Systems (LVS, Peachtree City, Ga.) has introduced the LVS® 6000 Vision
System family of products for most all applications that require
validation of such things as OCR, alignment, barcodes (including
the new RSS codes), small parts inspection, blob analysis, and pattern
matching.
According to
Tim Lydell, director of sales and marketing at LVS, the most impressive
feature of the LVS® 6000 system is its ability to validate variable
images as they are printed by a digital-type, variable-image print
system, at line speeds. The LVS® 6000 can inspect the image to assure
it is the correct images, as well as tally the images for later
analysis or accountability purposes. Any unusual print situations
are communicated to the operator, initiating marking of the bad
images or even stopping the press if desired.

ANSI/ISO verification of barcodes (including RSS) is an upcoming feature
that will allow verification of the barcode, and the inspection of
other areas of interest, Lydell said. Labels and packages can go to
customers with a traceable record that the product has been printed
to specification.
The LVS® 6000
comes with IQ/OQ documentation to meet rigid Pharmaceutical and
FDA standards.
