LVS Strides Forward on Quality

In the third quarter of 2008, LVS made the decision to work towards ISO 9001:2000 registration. The company has established a target date of September 2009.

Those familiar with ISO will recognize that the top level document is the company Quality Policy. LVS has adopted the following Quality Policy effective 11/16/09.

• Label Vision Systems, Inc. will consistently provide print quality inspection products and services, including ISO verification of barcodes that meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of our customers.
• We will actively pursue ever improving quality through programs that enable each employee to do their job right the first time and every time.
• We will establish and review quality objectives within our company.

To date we have made significant progress toward our goal. Our Quality Manual is nearing completion and we will shortly start an internal training program to familiarize our staff with the contents. Most of the work processes that impact the quality of our product have been reviewed, rewritten and implemented as ISO-compliant work instructions. During this process we have availed of several opportunities to re-engineer our processes and improve integration with our business system.

After the internal training, we will embark upon a two month period where all of our quality procedures and work instructions will be utilized. We will also undertake two internal audits and management review processes. This period will prepare us for the visit of an ISO external auditor.

Future editions of our newsletter will update the progress, challenges and accomplishments that we encounter as we work toward this difficult yet achievable goal.
